Arrive in style though the courtyard and gazebo

Emilly and Joe's wedding at Morden Park House Courtyard and Gazebo was a beautiful celebration filled with personal touches and genuine emotion. The day was bright and sunny, perfect for a wedding, though it did bring some challenges from a photographer’s perspective. The midday sun can cast harsh shadows, but with a bit of shade-hunting, it’s possible to capture everyone looking their best. The courtyard's layout, with its long walkway leading to the gazebo, provides a grand and elegant entrance for the bride, which Emilly took full advantage of as she arrived in a vintage white London taxi cab, accompanied by her bridal party.

One of the standout aspects of photographing at Morden Park House is the smooth organisation and friendliness of the team there. It's always a pleasure to work in a setting where everything runs like clockwork, allowing me to focus on capturing those special moments. After the ceremony, the staff were on hand to guide everyone out to the front of the house, which gave me the perfect opportunity to take some intimate shots of Emilly and Joe in the gardens and the house itself.

"Gary was fantastic, made us feel really relaxed and our wedding photos are amazing."

—Emilly and Joe

The courtyard and gazebo offer fantastic backdrops for candid wedding photography, making it easy to capture the genuine emotions of the day. After a touching ceremony, the couple, their guests (and their dog Arlo) were ready for confetti and group shots at the front of the house. The couple had also arranged an open-top bus to take everyone to the reception venue, which added an extra element of fun and excitement. While the guests enjoyed their time on the bus, I had a brief but invaluable 10 minutes with the couple to take some more photos in the grounds, making the most of the shade and the beautiful surroundings.

As a London based documentary wedding photographer, capturing these candid, heartfelt moments is what I love most about my job. Morden Park House Courtyard and Gazebo provide the perfect setting for this style of photography. If you’re looking for a photographer who understands the nuances of the location and can document your day in a way that feels genuine and natural, I’d love to chat. Being able to capture the essence of a wedding day, with all its emotions and spontaneous moments, is truly a privilege.
